Nation's No. 1 QB Julian Lewis Narrows List to Final 8 Schools

The Nation's No. 1 quarterback and overall prospect in the 2026 recruiting cycle, Julian Lewis has narrowed his recruitment to a Top-8.

The Nation's No. 1 quarterback and overall prospect in the 2026 recruiting cycle, Julian Lewis has narrowed his recruitment to a Top-8. The rising sophomore was recently ranked the No. 1 overall high school player regardless of class, and with three full seasons of high school football left, Lewis looks to be the most decorated QB to ever come out of the state of Georgia.

The in-state Bulldogs made Lewis's top-8 on Wednesday, alongside some of the nation's premier programs. LSU, Alabama, FSU, Texas, Oregon, USC, Texas A&M, and Ohio State all made the final 8 according to Lewis's social feeds.

We spoke to Lewis recently about his developing relationship with offensive coordinator Mike Bobo.

"I mean, [Bobo] seems like a like a good guy. You know just trying to build the same relationship I have with Coach Monken or better. Hopefully, he stays a little bit longer than Coach Monken did, but yeah, I'm talking to Coach Bobo. I've met coach Bobo's son and stuff like that. My main thing right now is just trying to build our relationship off the field like not talking about football stuff and see who I connect with."

As for what comes to mind when Lewis thinks about Georgia, he said, "They're known for defense recently like before last year, they were like a no throw, we're gonna pound the ball, beat you down your throat. Last year they aired it out. That was with Coach Monken, but they said they're planning on doing the same thing this year."

The Bulldogs have pieced together a stacked quarterback room as they currently have Carson Beck, Brock Vandagriff, and Gunner Stockton already on the roster and then will be adding Ryan Puglisi and Dylan Raiola from the 2024 class. They've produced good results on the trail as of late when it comes to recruiting the quarterback position, and later on down the road, they hope to add Julian Lewis' name to the list.
