Kenny McIntosh Compares Seahawks Rookie Minicamp to Practice at Georgia

Former Georgia running back and Seattle Seahawks rookie mentioned how familiar Seattle's rookie mini camp felt to practices in college.

This week, a handful of NFL team's all across the league have begun their rookie mini-camps. A rookie mini-camp is a period of practices that teams use to acclimate their newly signed players to plays, schemes, and overall feel for practices. Though the speed of the NFL can sometimes come as a culture shock to new players, Seattle running back Kenny McIntosh seems to feel right at home.

During a media presser, the running back commented on how smooth his transition from college to NFL had been. And mentioned how the practices felt eerily similar to his time with the Georgia Bulldogs.

"Kirby Smart really similarizes what we do here at the next level to get better. Because everything I did in college is like a repeat. They're saying the things that my coaches said at the college level."

McIntosh played for the Bulldogs from 2019-2022. In those four seasons, he helped the team win two national titles and an SEC Championship. During his senior season with the Dawgs, he rushed for an impressive 829 yards on 150 carries and hauled in 43 receptions for 504 yards as well. He was selected as the 237th pick in the seventh round of the 2023 NFL Draft.

Kirby Smart and staff have garnered much praise from former players, who've mentioned how the team's rigorous practices made transitioning from college to the NFL much easier. Last year, Steelers wide receiver George Pickens stated that he believed practices at Georgia were even harder than ones in the NFL.

With numerous former players pointing out the NFL-like structure that the University of Georgia's practices have. Kirby Smart and the team's success over the past few seasons seems to make a lot of sense.
