Georgia wide receiver Ladd McConkey will not dress out for the second straight home game to start the season. The junior wide receiver has missed the first two games of the season with what Kirby Smart calls a day-to-day back injury. He also stated this week when updating the injury report that McConkey experienced issues with a similar injury a year ago.

McConkey spoke to the SEC Network's Paul Finebaum about what he and his teammates have been able to accomplish to this point in his career.

"It's crazy. What we have done is truly special. But as soon as you start looking at it like that, that's when you get caught up. So we are taking it one day at a time, looking forward, and not kind of sitting back and resting on our laurels."

Georgia Football Injury Report 9/4

  • Running back Daijun Edwards DNP in Saturday's season opener, Smart said "We feel like Daijun could have played in that game. He's actually had this injury before. We feel good about him.
  • EJ Lightsay "My mind went blank, but he's had some shoulder. He's been dealing with some pain, we are trying to get him back."
  • Ladd: "He's day to day. We thought he might have been able to go last week, was a game-time decision and we held him out because he had back pain on Friday."
  • Kendall Milton (Hamstring) "Kendall's dying to get out there man, he loves this program and it kills him to not be out there and he's not been able to practice during camp due to his injury. So, now are dealing with how to keep him warm. He doesn't have camp stamina. He couldn't get himself in playing shape just in camp."
  • Smael Mondon (foot) - "He's close to being back fully. He felt like he could play so he feels good. Can he get in shape by running and playing while staying fresh."
