List of Georgia Football Coaches Receive Salary Raise
The Georgia football program is fresh off of back-to-back national titles and has now begun Spring practice and preparation for the 2023 college football season. Head coach Kirby Smart has helped surge his football team to the top of the sport, and it doesn't look like they will be going anywhere anytime soon.
Of course, it takes more than just a head coach to create a successful program. Smart alongside the rest of his staff have been getting it done on the recruiting trail and on Saturdays, and as a result, a lot of coaches recently save an uptick in their salary. Some even saw their salary more than double what they were recently being paid.
The most notable of the bunch was co-defensive coordinator Glenn Schumann receiving a $1,095,000 raise. This comes after there were talks of Schumann potentially joining the Philadelphia Eagles staff, but Schumann ultimately elected to return to Georgia. Tight ends coach Todd Hartley received a raise of $100,000 up to $850,000. Offensive line coach Stacey Searels got a $100,000 raise which brings him up to $750,000. Dell McGee, Tray Scott, Bryan McClendon, Chidera Uzo-Diribe and Fran Brown all received a raise of $50,000 compared to what they made the season prior.
Outside of losing offensive coordinator Todd Monken to the NFL, Georgia has been able to hold onto the majority of its coaching staff from the 2022 season. Other programs and NFL organizations will of course keep calling and putting their best foot forward to try and attain what the Bulldogs have on staff, but Georgia is also doing everything it can to keep everyone around the program satisfied.
It takes a village to win back-to-back national titles, and Smart has surrounded himself with a very dependable and pristine village. And just as with anything else in this world, those things come with a cost, but in this case, it is worth every penny for the Georgia Bulldogs.
