While the 2023 college football season is rapidly approaching and teams are honing in on their goals for the upcoming year, some are still talking about what happened last season. Head coach Kirby Smart and the Bulldogs will be defending their back-to-back national titles this season and will likely head into the new season as the favorite to win a third, but one Ohio State player feels that wouldn't be the case if the Peach Bowl went a little differently.

Despite the fact that Georgia overcame a 14-point deficit in the fourth quarter and that the Buckeyes had a chance to win the game in the final seconds, some would say that Marvin Harrison Jr's injury was the biggest play of the game. Quarterback CJ Stroud and the Buckeyes' offense were knocking on the door in the red zone during the second half of the game, and as Stroud lobbed a pass to the back of the end zone to Harrison Jr., Georgia defensive back Javon Bullard laid down a hit that dislodged the ball and the Ohio State wide receiver would miss the remainder of the game after that.

Harrison Jr. said after the game that he didn't know if the play was targeting or not, but he did know that Bullard was just trying to make a play on the football. However, recently Harrison Jr. stated that he feels that game would have ended differently if he had never gotten hurt.

Georgia is no stranger to the narrative that an injury to the opposing team's wide receiver is the reason they won the football game. It's the same thing that they heard after they defeated Alabama during the 2021 national championship game.

Injuries are unfortunately a part of the game and sometimes they happen during the biggest game of the season. Every team deals with injuries every season and even Georgia played the Peach Bowl without some of their key players. Harrison Jr. is obviously just a big believer in his ability to affect a football game, as he should be, but the reality is we will never know what that game looks like if Ohio State has a healthy Harrison Jr. for the remainder of the game.
