This past weekend, Georgia Bulldogs head coach Kirby Smart officially his team's most followed position battle when he announced that Carson Beck would be the starting quarterback for the 2023 season.

Beck, a senior from Jacksonville, Florida has been a notable member of the Bulldogs roster since 2020. Despite this, he has yet to start a game for the Bulldogs. But Beck's lack of starts should not be viewed as a weakness. In fact, a recent story from a current teammate suggests that the Bulldogs' signal caller may be using it to his advantage.

In an interview with The Players Lounge, fellow teammate and former roommate Warren Brinson shared a story about Beck after the Bulldogs won their first national title in 2022.

"Carson was my roommate when we moved in, and after our first Natty, we were talking. He was like 'Warren. I want my own. I want my Natty.' After he told me that, I've seen a flip in Carson. He's been grinding. He's the first quarterback in the building. Last two year's you'll see his truck is parked out there first. Here's there getting notes and he's leaving last."

Though Beck has yet to start a game for the Bulldogs, he has gotten a chance to play in college football's biggest stages during the 2023 national championship when the Bulldogs routed the TCU Horned Frogs in a 65-7 victory.

Beck's journey for a national title of his own will begin on September 2. When the Bulldogs host the UT-Martin Skyhawks in Athens. Kickoff for this matchup is currently set for 6 p.m.
