WATCH: Dylan Raiola Talks All Things Georgia Bulldogs
Recruiting season is in full swing across the nation, and the Bulldogs started it off with a bang by landing a commitment earlier this week from the No. 1 player in the 2024 class, Dylan Raiola.
Now a Georgia commit, Raiola and his family took an unofficial visit this weekend to Georgia in order to be in town for the Scavenger Hunt, a notorious recruiting weekend for the Bulldogs. Though he wasn't just in town to take photos and hangout with potential prospects and convince them to come to Georgia, he came to work as well.
The five-star quarterback was out at Jefferson High School, home of five-star linebacker Sammy Brown, and Dawgs Daily caught up with the nation's No. 1 player to see what his messaging has been since becoming a commit.
"Yeah, it's been awesome, you know, being able to recruit for a guy like Coach Smart, and the rest of their staff, the staff is incredible. And, you know, just for me to get out here and throw at these guys, just to see what it's like to be out here and in Georgia, you know, around some committed guys, and, you know, have some key pieces that we want to add. So, you know, making that a priority."
Raiola was then asked what gave him the idea to come out and get an extra throwing session in with the guys while he was in town:
"You know, I just felt like, you know, just getting out and getting work with my future teammates. I made a key emphasis, you know, after I committed to, you know, build the best class ever. And I feel like this is important, just for them to get around. You know, for me to feel, how they, how they work and how they run their routes."
As for his pitch to other five-stars like himself? It's pretty simple, Georgia's a place of relationships.
"I would just say all the relationships that the coaches build with you, you know, they're going to be genuine. How they are when they recruited us how they are all the time, you know, I've seen that firsthand asking the players, the players will tell you the same thing, you know, having the players around. They don't ask the players to stay around. So you know, it means a lot to you know, the players could have been at home you know, it's maybe they got their time off, but there was about 10 or 15 of them that decide to stay around and hang out the recruits."
