Key Takeaways from the game:

We talked about it earlier in the week in our Keys to the Matchup piece, saying that if Tennessee had a chance they would have to jump out to a hot start.

And they certainly tried to do so. With a 73-yard score from Brian Maurer to Marquez Callaway. Maurer even had 205 passing yards at the half, but the success did not last long.

Georgia's talent and strength on both the offensive and defensive lines became overwhelming for the Volunteers.

There were flags everywhere in this contest, 15 for 127 yards. Led by Georgia's 76 yards.

What the heck is targeting? There were two consecutive series in this football game where Targeting was called on the field, only to be overturned via replay. Once on Tennessee LT Wanya Morris, and the next of Richard LeCounte

The targeting rule was altered in 2013, adding replay and possible ejections into the equation and though it's led to more player safety, it's created even more confusion and stoppage time into the games.

Georgia's missed several opportunities in the redzone (penalties, Lawrence Cager, stopped on a 4th down. Stalled out several times and settled for field goals)

Georgia QB, Jake Fromm

But have no doubt, if tonight proved anything, it's that whenever James Coley and his staff unleash Jake Fromm, he more than delivers. Going 24 of 29 for 288 yards and 2TDs.

The Georgia offense remained balanced throughout, throwing for 288 and rushing for 241 yards.

Georgia NT, Jordan Davis

Player standouts:

The loss of Jordan Davis, though we don't yet know the severity, is a point of concern for the Bulldog faithful. Georgia's run defense was gashed for the most part of last season, and the emergence of Jordan Davis was the primary reason for the drastic improvement late last season into this year.
