How to Watch Kirby Smart at SEC Media Days
SEC Media Days is an annual event held by the Southeastern Conference. During SEC Media Days, representatives from the SEC schools gather for a few days of press conferences, interviews, and media sessions.
The head coach of each football team, along with a few players, will attend the event to discuss various aspects of the upcoming season. They address topics such as team expectations, player development, strategies, and other relevant issues. It allows fans and the media to gain insight into the teams and provides a platform for the SEC to promote its football programs.
Georgia and Head Coach Kirby Smart will have the podium on Tuesday. The day is set to start at 8:15 am, where Georgia will be the second team of the day. Coach Smart has chosen to bring Brock Bowers, Sedrick Van Pran Granger, and Kamari Lassiter to represent the university. SEC Network will be broadcasting the event for the entire week.
Heading into SEC media days there will be serval questions asked about this upcoming season for the bulldogs, but there are a few that may stick out more than the rest:
1. QB “Battle”
Georgia will be heading into the 2023 football season having to replace two-time national champion, Stetson Bennett, who was recently drafted by the Los Angeles Rams. Carson Beck seems to be the favorite for the job, but Brock Vandergriff and Gunner Stockton are fighting continuously to earn that title as well.
2. Replacing Jalen Carter-
For the first time in quite some time, it seems there isn’t a Jordan Davis or Jalen Carter on the defensive line for Tray Scott and the University of Georgia. They will be relying on some upperclassmen this fall to fill that void. Nazir Stackhouse, Zion Louge, Warren Brinson, and company have some rather large shoes to fill and the way coach Smart plays through the trenches on both sides of the ball, this is a topic worth questioning.
3. Mike Bobo
Georgia is replacing not only its quarterback but also its offensive coordinator. Todd Monken, during the off-season, became the new offensive coordinator for the Baltimore Ravens. During that time Mike Bobo was named as the new OC for the reigning champions. The Bulldogs are coming off of one of their better seasons averaging 41.1 points per game and 501.1 yards per game. Both of which were top 5 in the country last season. Will Coach Bobo be able to continue the success Coach Monken had?
