Williams Nwaneri Commits to Missouri Tigers
The defensive line is one of the most important units on a football defense. When a team possesses the ability to stop offenses from establishing the run and can disrupt a quarterback's timing, they often have an excellent chance to win the game. Given this, it is understandable as to why 5-star defensive lineman Williams Nwaneri's recruitment was so closely followed.
Nwaneri's highly anticipated recruitment ended today however, as he annoucned that he would be joining coach Eli Drinkiwitz and the Missouri Tigers' 2024 recruiting class. Nwaneri is the Tigers' first 5-star commitment of this class, bringing the team's total number of commits to 12.
The Georgia Bulldogs appeared to be in the hunt for Nwaneri for quite some time. A commitment from Nwaneri would have added to the Bulldogs' already loaded 2024 class which is currently ranekd first in the nation. However just a few days before his commitment, signs began to indicate that Nwaneri would be a Tiger.
While Nwaneri's commitment to a fellow SEC East team is certainly a disappointment for Kirby Smart and Georgia. However, the Bulldogs' 2024 class still has plenty of talent at the position including 4-stars Joseph Jonah-Ajonye, Jordan Thomas, and Justin Greene.
