Jackson Finley Named National Player of The Week
Georgia Tech's Jackson Finley has been named the national player of the week by Collegiate Baseball.
Finley was phenomenal this week behind the plate, hitting .412 with four home runs and two doubles. He hit 12 RBIs and had a slugging percentage of 1.235 and an on-base percentage of .474.
Finley got the nod as the starting pitcher on Sunday and responded by throwing five innings, allowing two runs on eight hits and did not walk a batter and struck out four.
On the season, Finley has worked to a terrific .322 batting average in 41 games played. He’s recorded 49 hits, 15 doubles and a team-best 17 home runs for 57 RBI. In the Atlantic Coast Conference, the Richmond Hill native ranks third in RBI, fourth in home runs, fifth in slugging percentage (.757), sixth in total bases (115), and eighth in doubles (Per Georgia Tech PR).
The Yellow Jackets are back in action this Friday at 6:00 p.m. against Pitt.
