Georgia Tech Basketball Weekly Recruiting Recap: 6/19
The contact period for the 2025 recruiting class opened up this week and college basketball coaches were busy trying to get in contact with their top 2025 targets. That was the main storyline for college basketball recruiting as a whole this weekend, but Georgia Tech had some other storylines to follow.
Let's recap the week that was in Georgia Tech basketball recruiting.
1. 2023 Four-star center Jazz Gardner visits Georgia Tech
Gardner plays at West Ranch High School in Stevenson Ranch, CA. He is a four-star prospect according to the 247Sports Composite, the No. 19 center in the country and the No. 19 player in the state of California. Other offers that Gardner has include Dayton, Georgia, Texas Tech, Houston, Illinois, Kansas, LSU, and USC, among others.
Gardner has also visited Oregon and Texas Tech.
2. 2024 Four-star guard Jaeden Mustaf will take an official visit to Georgia Tech on June 20th-21st
Jaeden Mustaf (Matthews, NC) is a four-star guard and the No. 27 player in the country according to 247Sports. It was announced on social media by Melo Williams that he would be taking an official visit to Georgia Tech on June 20th-21st
Mustaf is a 6'4 205 LBS combo guard and he would be a great addition to Damon Stoudamire's 2024 recruiting class. He is the third-ranked combo guard in the country for the 2024 class. While Georgia Tech is not currently in the top five schools for Mustaf, there is still time to make a big move and look for Stoudamire to do so. Florida State, Indiana, Miami, Virginia Tech, and NC State make up his top five. Miami, Indiana, and NC State made the NCAA Tournament last season, while Virginia Tech was in the NIT.
Georgia Tech currently does not have a commitment for the 2024 class.
3. Georgia Tech offers 2025 five-star guard Jasper Johnson
Jasper Johnson (Versailles, KY) is a five-star combo guard (247Sports) in the class of 2025 and has been garnering attention from some of the top programs across the country. He holds offers from Florida State, Kansas, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisville, LSU, West Virginia, and Xavier, among others. Today, he added an offer from Stoudamire to the list.
Jasper is ranked as the No. 3 combo guard in the nation according to the 247Sports Composite.
Because he is from Kentucky, Louisville or UK could be the teams to beat. Still, Stoudamire has his eyes on landing big recruits while the head coach of Georgia Tech and Jasper is one of the best in the country.
Georgia Tech currently does not have a commitment for the 2025 class.
Georgia Tech has one 2023 prospect in the class and that is four-star forward Baye Ndongo (Putnam, CT). Stoudamire has also brought in six transfers and Georgia Tech holds the No. 17 transfer class in the country according to 247Sports.
