Georgia Tech was coming off a loss on Tuesday to Georgia and it put a damper on what an impressive week it had been for Damon Stoudamire and Georgia Tech. After wins over Mississippi State and Duke, Georgia Tech did not play their best game against the Bulldogs.

They came back to Atlanta today looking for a bounce-back win against an overmatched opponent and they did just that. Alabama A&M is ranked 350th out of 364 teams in the latest KenPom rankings and Georgia Tech was favored by 20.5 points. It could have been a letdown spot after a lackluster performance against Georgia on Tuesday, but Damon Stoudamire got his team ready and the Yellow Jackets took care of business today.

There were no changes to the starting lineup for Georgia Tech today. Naithan George, Miles Kelly, Kowacie Reeves, Baye Ndongo, and Ebenezer Dowuona. That had been the starting five for the two wins against Mississippi State and Duke.

It was a bit of a clunky start for the Yellow Jackets and it took them a minute to get going. They held only a three-point lead at a timeout with 11:49 left and the offense got off to another slow start. The three-point shots were not falling, but the defense was holding up.

From that point forward it was all Georgia Tech.

Georgia Tech led 18-14 and then went on a 12-1 run to take a 30-15 lead. Alabama A&M had gone nearly five minutes without scoring. Georgia Tech led 34-17 at the half and was shooting 48% from the field and 42% from three. Reeves had 14 points and Kelly had 11 points. Georgia Tech's defense held Alabama A&M to 21.9% from the field and 10% from three.

Stoudamire and Georgia Tech did not let their foot off the gas and were not in danger of losing the game at any point. The Yellow Jackets won 70-49 and did not have to worry at any point.

For the game, Georgia Tech shot 43% from the field and 29% from three. I still think the offense is inconsistent, but that is something that should come as the group plays more games. Reeves scored 20 points, Kelly finished with 11, and Tyzhaun Claude had 10.

Georgia Tech held Alabama A&M to 28% shooting from the field and 10% from three.

The next game for Georgia Tech will be at Madison Square Garden vs Penn State next Saturday at noon. The game will be televised on the Big Ten Network.
