Georgia Tech WBB Loses 63-55 To Louisville and Drops To 0-4 In ACC Play
Georgia Tech Women's Basketball fought hard to battle back against Louisville on Thursday night, but came up short, and now Nell Fortner's team is 0-4 in ACC play.
Louisville is one of the toughest places to play in the ACC and despite 17 points from freshman Kara Dunn in her first start, the Yellow Jackets' struggles continued.
Georgia Tech started the game well in the first quarter, but the lead did not last long, as Louisville would make a run to take a 32-24 lead at the half. The Yellow Jackets would be able to make three three-pointers in the second half, but it was not enough. Louisville was able to keep Georgia Tech at arm's length and win the game 63-55.
Dunn was not the only Yellow Jacket to score in double figures in this game, Cam Swartz finished with 10 points and Bianca Jackson finished with 10 as well.
Georgia Tech finished with only five turnovers in this game compared to 19 from Louisville. The Cardinals outscored Georgia Tech in the paint 30-20 and had more second-chance points than Georgia Tech with 15 compared to Georgia Tech's seven. The bench for the Yellow Jackets outscored Louisville 22-12.
Georgia Tech is going to be aiming for their first ACC win of the year on Sunday when they travel to Wake Forest to take on the Demon Deacons. Wake Forest is 10-6 this season and is 1-4 in the ACC.
