2024 Georgia Tech Football Commitment List and recruiting profiles /

Georgia Tech is one of the hottest teams on the recruiting front in the ACC and the Yellow Jackets currently have a top 20 class on both Rivals and 247Sports. There is still work to be done to maintain that ranking, but Brent Key and the rest of his staff deserve a ton of credit for the uptick in recruiting so far during the 2024 cycle.

You can find a list of Georgia Tech's 2024 commitments here along with profiles and notes.

QB Aaron Philo

Committed: May 11th, 2022

School: Prince Avenue Christian (GA)

H/W: 6-foot-2, 200 pounds

Philo is one of two quarterbacks in this class and was the first one on board.

Here are some accomplishments and stats courtesy of 247Sports director of scouting Andrew Ivins:

"2022: Peach State Class A Division 1 Offensive Player of the Year. Led Prince Avenue Christian to a perfect 14-0 record and a title. Completed 274 of 397 pass attempts (69 percent) for 4,598 yards with 54 TD to go against 8 INT. Also carried the ball 68 times for 361 yards (5.3 average) and 8 more scores. Threw for 5 TD or more in 6 games. That included in the state championship against Swainsboro where he was 21 of 32 for 477 yards with 6 TD and 1 INT. Studied under former college coach Jon Richt."

QB Graham Knowles

Committed: June 18th, 2023

School: Southlake Carroll High (Texas)

H/W: 6-foot-7, 220 pounds

Georgia Tech has not one, but two quarterbacks in this 2024 class.

Knowles has an intriguing skill set and size. He has a terrific arm and at 6'7 220 LBS, Knowles can make the necessary throws in the offense and he has a lot of upside. He is also a two-sport athlete that also plays basketball.

Here are some stats and info on Knowles courtesy of 247Sports:

"Played in 13 games as a junior, including five as a starter following an injury to senior Kaden Anderson (Wyoming 2023 signee). Threw for 1,864 yards, 18 TDs, and 3 INTs on 127-for-174 passing (72.3 completion percentage). Went 3-1 in the playoffs, leading Southlake Carroll to a 13-1 record and the Texas 6A D-II regional final (fourth round)."

RB Khamani Alexander

Committed: June 24th, 2023

School: Belen Jesuit Prep (Miami, FL)

H/W: 6-foot, 190 pounds

Alexander is rated as a three-star prospect on 247Sports and the No. 110 running back in the country.

Other offers that Alexander held included Boston College, West Virginia, USF, Syracuse, Liberty, Pitt, and Louisville, among others.

Also competes in track and field events. Posted a 11.43 (0.7) in the 100-meter dash as an 11th grader (Courtesy of 247Sports Andrew Ivins).

2022: Got snaps on both sides of the ball as a junior for a Belen Jesuit, which made first round of Florida’s 3M playoffs. On offense, carried the ball 106 times for 673 yards (6.3 average) and 7 TD. Also caught 6 passes for 45 yards and a TD. Credited with 9 tackles and an INT on defense (Courtesy of 247Sports Andrew Ivins).

RB Jaedon Matthews

Committed: June 17th, 2023

School: Saguaro (Scottsdale, AZ)

H/W: 5-foot-10, 170 pounds

Other offers that Matthews had included Arizona State, Cal, Colorado, Duke, Kansas, Kansas State, Washington State, and Wisconsin. Matthews is a nice complement to Alexander and a good get from out west.

RB Trelain Maddox

Committed: June 13th, 2023

School: Parkview High School (GA)

H/W: 6-foot-1, 205 pounds

Maddox committed to Georgia Tech over Rutgers and Kentucky and although he is listed as an athlete on some recruiting sites, he is likely to play running back for the Yellow Jackets, giving them three talented ones in this class.

WR Koby Young

Committed: June 20th, 2023

School: Holy Cross (Louisiana)

H/W: 5-foot-11, 175 pounds

This was a big one for Georgia Tech. Special Teams coach Ricky Brumfield went into Louisiana and got the talented receiver who had plenty of offers from around the country.

This is a massive recruiting win for Georgia Tech to go into Louisiana and get a prospect of this caliber. Young is a borderline four-star player on the 247Sports Composite and the No. 9 player in the state of Louisiana. Young took an official visit to Georgia Tech this summer and is now in their 2024 class.

Young's other offers include Alabama, LSU, Arkansas, Florida State, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Texas, and Texas A&M, among others. That is a powerful list of schools to be competing against and landing a player over those schools is huge for Georgia Tech.

He also runs track. In limited junior reps, posted a 22.78 200-meter time in Spring 2023. Ran an 11.47 100 and 200-meter times of 22.53 and 22.59 as a sophomore in Spring 2022. Also posted a 52.51 400. Recorded a 7.31 60-meter dash, a 23.94 200, and a 20-1 long jump in indoor competition in Jan. 2022 (Notes and stats courtesy of 247Sports Gabe Brooks).

2022: Finished junior season with 41-667-4 receiving (16.3 avg), plus 61-327-1 rushing (5.4 ypc). Completed 4 of 5 passes for 119 yards.2021: Produced 14-283-4 receiving (20.2 avg) and 7-42 rushing in seven games as a sophomore (Notes and stats courtesy of 247Sports Gabe Brooks).

WR Trey Horne

Committed: June 6th, 2023

School: Rabun Gap (Georgia)

H/W: 6-foot-3, 180 pounds

Here are some stats and notes on Horne courtesy of 247 Director of Scouting Andrew Ivins:

"Has also competed in track and field events. As an 11th grader, clocked an 11.27 in the 100-meter dash. Also posted a 20-8.25 effort in the long jump.202 2: Transferred into Rabun Gap-Nacoochee where he reclassified. Got snaps on both sides of the ball, but did most of his damage at WR. Caught 47 passes for 772 yards and 7 TD. Also carried the ball 57 times for 532 yards and 14 TD. On defense, was credited with 14 tackles. Earned All-Conference honors.2022: Played QB while at Piedmont (S.C.) Wren."

TE David Prince

Committed: June 13th, 2023

School: Glynn Academy (Georgia)

H/W: 6-foot-4, 220 pounds

Prince is a very intriguing tight end prospect that I think could develop into a nice player. He is a 6'4 220 LBS prospect that already has the athletic ability and with coaching and development he can be a complete tight end and that is what is going to be asked to do in Buster Faulkner's offense.

Prince is a three-star prospect on 247Sports and was rated the No. 73 tight end in the country.

TE Luke Harpring

Committed: June 18th, 2023

School: Marist (Georgia)

H/W: 6-foot-3, 210 pounds

Harpring, son of former Georgia Tech basketball player Matt Harpring, was impressive at Georgia Tech's prospect camp on June 1st and left Atlanta with an offer.

This is one prospect that plays multiple positions and he is solid at all of them, Whether it is as a defensive end or a tight end, I think Harpring can find a way to make a difference on the field for the Yellow Jackets at some point in the future and that will likely be at tight end.

Harpring's other offers include Air Force, Army, Brown, Charlotte, Elon, Georgia Southern, Navy, and Penn.

OL Santana Alo-Tupuola

Committed: March 19th, 2023

School: IMG Academy (Florida)

H/W: 6-foot-1, 325 pounds

Tupuola held offers from Florida, App State, Hawaii, and UNLV.

At 6-1 325, Tupuola is going to be projected to play along the interior of the offensive line at either guard spot or possibly center.

OL Jordan Floyd

Committed: March 19th, 2023

School: Parkview (Georgia)

H/W: 6-foot-5, 295 pounds

Other offers that Floyd held include UCF, Kentucky, Florida State, Maryland, Mississippi State, Missouri, Ole Miss, Pitt, and Tennessee, among others.

Floyd is a huge prospect that gives the future of the offensive line talent. He is athletic for his size and moves well and is a powerful blocker. If developed, this could be one of the best players in the class.

Edge CJ Jackson

Committed: June 25th, 2023

School: Tucker (Georgia)

H/W: 6-foot-3, 225 pounds

This was a massive win for Brent Key and the Yellow Jackets.

Jackson is rated a four-star prospect on the 247Sports Composite, the No. 204 player in the country, and the No. 29 player in the state of Georgia. He held big-time offers from schools such as Alabama, LSU, Florida, Auburn, Clemson, Georgia, South Carolina, Texas A&M, and Tennessee, among others

This is a huge get for Brent Key and the Yellow Jackets coaching staff. Jackson is not only a highly-rated prospect, but one in the state of Georgia, and keeping those guys home is going to be vital for Georgia Tech. There are still some targets on the board for this staff in the state and they are hoping to close on them

Jackson is an athletic player off the edge at 6'3 225 LBS and he has the tools to be the next star pass rusher in Atlanta.

Edge William Depaepe

Committed: May 15th, 2023

School: Moline (Illinois)

H/W: 6-foot-6, 225 pounds

Depaepe also had an offer from Ball State. He is rated as a three-star prospect on the 247Sports Composite, ranking as the 868th player nationally.

Depaepe is an intriguing edge rusher at 6'6 225 LBS and he has the tools to be an impact player with the right development and coaching.

Edge Trashun Griffin

Committed: June 25th, 2023

School: Bibb County (Alabama)

H/W: 6-foot-4, 240 pounds

Other offers that Griffin held were Louisville, Maryland, Mississippi State, and Marshall, among others.

DT Landen Marshall

Committed: June 7th, 2023

School: Andalusia (Alabama)

H/W: 6-foot-3, 290 pounds

Marshall is a 6'3 290 LBS three-star prospect on the 247Sports Composite and is ranked as the 1,085th prospect in the nation and the 39th-ranked prospect in Alabama.

Other offers that Marshall had were Michigan, Arkansas, LSU, Texas, Miami, Florida State, Oregon, and Ole Miss, among others.

LB Jordan Boyd

Committed: March 19th, 2023

School: Silver Bluff (South Carolina)

H/W: 6-foot-3, 220 pounds

Boyd is an athletic edge played at 6'3 215 LBS and he is only going to continue growing into his frame. This could be a big steal and I think Boyd is going to be a rising player in this recruiting process.

Boyd had other offers from Wake Forest, Virginia Tech, and Missouri, among others.

LB Tah'j Butler

Committed: April 20th, 2023

School: Edna Kerr (Louisiana)

H/W: 6-foot-2, 215 pounds

Butler was an early commit back in April after the spring game and was the first Louisiana recruit that Brumfield brought in. Butler is very athletic and should fit the defensive scheme well.

LB Demontrae Gaston

Committed: April 1st, 2023

School: Pensacola Catholic (Florida)

H/W: 6-foot-1, 200 pounds

Gaston is rated a three-star prospect on the 247Sports Composite and is ranked as the 686th prospect in the country and the 66th linebacker.

Gaston (6'1, 200 LBS) also had offers from Wake Forest, Tulane, Memphis, and FAU, among others.

He is a speedy linebacker that moves well and sheds blocks with ease. He will likely need to grow into his frame once he reaches Atlanta, but he projects well at the next level with the right coaching and development.

CB Trajen Greco

Committed: June 26th, 2023

School: Mill Creek (Georgia)

H/W: 6-foot-2, 180 pounds

Greco is the No. 520 player in the country according to the 247Sports Composite and the No. 62 player in the state of Georgia. He now becomes the third-highest-rated commitment in the Georgia Tech class behind edge rusher CJ Jackson and wide receiver Koby Young.

Greco committed to Georgia Tech over offers from Kansas, North Carolina, Tulane, Boston College, Duke, Indiana, Pitt, Virginia, and USF, among others.

He also plays basketball. Named Georgia Region 8-AAAAAAA Player of the Year as an 11th grader after consistently scoring in double figures (Notes and stats courtesy of 247Sports Andrew Ivins)

2022: Worked primarily CB for a Mill Creek program that went and won its first state title in school history. Credited with 61 tackles, 17 PBU, 5 INT and a FR, which was returned for six points. Also threw a TD pass on offense. (Notes and stats courtesy of 247Sports Andrew Ivins).

CB Nehmiah Chandler

Committed: June 18th, 2023

School: Wakulla (Florida)

H/W: 6-foot-1, 165 pounds

Chandler is a 6'1 165 LBS versatile defensive back who will bring athleticism to the Georgia Tech secondary. In 2022, He was a two-way as a junior at Monroe, getting snaps at CB, WR, and QB. Appeared in 7 games, totaling 8 PBU and 2 INT on defense (Stats courtesy of 247Sports Andrew Ivins). Chandler was on an official visit to Georgia Tech this weekend.

Other offers that Chandler held were UCF (He took an official visit there last week), Liberty, Maryland, USF, UAB, Middle Tennessee State, and Florida A&M.

WR Isiah Canion

Committed: July 3rd

School: Warner Robins (Georgia)

H/W: 6-foot-3, 190 pounds

Brent Key and the Georgia Tech staff pulled a big win by flipping Notre Dame wide receiver commit Isiah Canion. Canion de-committed from the Fighting Irish on Saturday afternoon, setting up for the Yellow Jackets to swoop in and land his commitment. He is the 21st member of the class for Georgia Tech

Canion is a 6'3 190 LBS wide receiver prospect that plays at Warner Robins High School in Georgia. His other offers included Auburn, Cincinnati, Duke, Florida State, Indiana, and Stanford, among others.

He is a two-sport athlete who also plays baseball.

Canion now becomes the second-highest-ranked member of the Yellow Jackets 2024 class, behind four-star edge rusher CJ Jackson.

Here are some stats and info on Canion courtesy of 247Sports Gabe Brooks:

2022: Played QB and receiver as a junior. Threw for 584 yards, five TDs, and one INT on 42-for-61 passing (68.9 percent). Added 15-32-1 rushing and 26-395-6 receiving. Produced six tackles and two INTs in limited defensive snaps. Helped Warner Robins to a 10-5 record and a Georgia 5A state runner-up finish.

2021: Finished sophomore season with 28-190-1 rushing and 5-51 receiving. Threw for 192 yards, three TDs, and one INT on 15-for-20 passing (75.0 percent).
