Could Georgia Tech Take Two Quarterbacks In the 2024 Recruiting Class?
Georgia Tech and its staff are in the process of evaluating recruits for the 2024 class, one that currently ranks 31st in the country according to 247Sports. The Yellow Jackets currently have six commits in the class, including four-star quarterback Jakhari Williams (Macon, GA). Williams is the building block of this class and has the tools to be the starting quarterback of the future for Georgia Tech.
But that has not stopped the Yellow Jackets from offering other 2024 quarterbacks and bringing them in for visits. Head coach Brent Key is trying to build a talented roster in Atlanta and making sure that Georgia Tech has quality depth at the most important position on the field and I think because of that, it is possible that Georgia Tech brings in two quarterbacks for the class.
Looking at the current roster situation for the quarterbacks, the Yellow Jackets have Zach Pyron (redshirt freshman), Haynes King (redshirt sophomore), and Zach Gibson (redshirt junior) on scholarship. Williams would it four quarterbacks on scholarship assuming he sticks with his commitment.
So what other quarterbacks have been visiting the Yellow Jackets this spring?
On April 7th, Graham Knowles (Southlake, TX) took an unofficial visit to Atlanta and left that weekend with an offer from Key and the staff. Knowles is an intriguing prospect at 6'7 220 LBS with a strong arm and he holds offers from Colorado State and Memphis.
Georgia Tech is his only power five offer as of now and it seems like the staff has been in constant contact with Knowles.
Another quarterback that was in Atlanta this spring was Henry Hasselbeck (Westwood, MA), son of former NFL quarterback Matt Hasselbeck.
Hasselbeck has been trending to Boston College (his dad also played there) and he has not been back down for another visit. He holds other offers from UConn, East Carolina, Liberty, Rice, and others.
Aaron Philo (Bogart, GA) is an in-state quarterback at Prince Avenue Christian and he holds offers from Minnesota, Cincinnati, and UCF, among others. Philo was in town for the spring game on an unofficial visit and is a former Minnesota commit.
One name worth mentioning is Judd Anderson (Gray, GA). Anderson is a current Miami commit but has visited Georgia Tech before.
In my opinion, Georgia Tech is just doing its due diligence on other quarterbacks in this class in case they need to pivot to one of them in the scenario where Williams de-commits or there is a transfer (which I don't think is happening). The Yellow Jackets would have four quarterbacks on the 2024 roster (Pyron, King, Gibson, and Williams) and I don't see the need in adding a fifth scholarship quarterback. I could be wrong, but I think the numbers on the roster and the commitment of Williams suggest that Georgia Tech won't take two quarterbacks in the 2024 class.

- Duke Watson (RB)
- Santana Alo-Tupuola (IOL)
- Jordan Boyd (DE/LB)
- Demontrae Gaston (LB)
- Tah'j Butler (LB)
