With the 2024 cycle wrapped up, it is now on to the 2025 class.

Georgia Tech and its staff closed well to get its highest-ranked class since 202, but there is still work to be done as Brent Key continues to build his program.

Here is an early look at the top targets for the 2025 class.

Houston County QB Antwann Hill

Hill’s recruiting remains open after he de-committed from Colorado in November. Hill still remains a target for the Yellow Jackets in the 2025 class. He plays for Houston County in Warner Robins, Georgia, and is coming off of a stellar junior season. He led Houston County to the second round of the GHSA state playoffs and finished the year with 34 total touchdowns.

According to 247Sports Composite, Hill is rated as a four-star player, the No. 66 player nationally, the No. 5 quarterback, and the No. 12 player in Georgia. He holds 28 offers with seven from ACC schools including Georgia Tech.

In 2023, Hill threw for 2,732 yards and 31 touchdowns on a 65% completion percentage. He stands at 6’5 and 215 pounds with a cannon of an arm. He is great at running a spread offense and is a great deep ball thrower. Hill is also an exceptional dual-threat that when he uses his legs he can make you pay in the open field if you don’t tackle him. He’s a true field general and leader on the field.

One of his most impressive games this past season came against 4A state champion Perry in the second game of the season. Hill threw for 363 and five touchdowns with a memorable 98-yard touchdown pass to Mississippi State Signee Ricky Johnson. On the play, Hill faced heavy pressure and had to escape the pocket finding one of his favorite targets who took it the distance in a hostile environment on the road.

Hill is great at reading defenses and has continued to make improvements to his game each season. In his three-year playing career, Hill has thrown for 7,278 yards and 79 touchdowns. 2023 marked the second consecutive year he has thrown for more than 30 touchdowns in a season.

Lee County RB Ousmane Kromah

Four-star running back Ousmane Kromah plays at Lee County High School in Georgia. Kromah led Lee County to the quarterfinals in the GHSA state playoffs and was a main focal point of the offense for the Trojans this season. He holds 16 offers notably from Alabama, Georgia, Colorado, Auburn, Florida, Florida State, and Georgia Tech. According to 247Sports Composite, Kromah is rated as the No. 55 player nationally, No. 3 running back, and No. 8 player in Georgia.

In 2023, Kromah rushed for 1,783 yards and 20 touchdowns. He had nine games where he rushed for 100 yards and in seven of those games he had more than one rushing touchdown. Perhaps his most impressive game this season came against rival Houston County where he rushed for 327 yards and four touchdowns on a strained calf on Peachtree Sports Network. Going into the game, he was a question mark to even suit up, but when the lights were the brightest he showed up. The performance helped him win player of the game.

“Ousmane was probably only at about 75%. He battled a strained calf all week and he could barely walk in the morning,” said Lee County head coach Dave Fabrizio. “We got it rolled out and our trainers did a great job and there was no way we were going to keep him out of that game. Ousmane Kromash at 75% is better than almost everybody at 100%.”

That is the type of player you can expect if he indeed comes to Georgia Tech. His numbers from this past season helped him get selected to Recruit Georgia All-State Team, Score Atlanta Top 75 Player in the State, and Atlanta Journal-Constitution 6A Offensive Player of the Year. Kromah is the real deal and is known for his big play ability and refusal to go down on first contact.

Douglas County WR James Johnson

James Johnson plays for the Douglas County Tigers in Douglasville, Georgia. He led Douglas County to their second 13-win season in program history and their best finish to a season since 1988. Also, their first region championship since 2002.

Johnson is an underrated prospect who can do a little bit of everything. He stands at six feet and 185 pounds. Don’t let the size fool you. He is a physically hard-hitting defensive back on defense and a weapon on the offensive side of the ball. Although Johnson is unranked on most recruiting platforms except On3 Sports, he has 25+ offers. Some of the notable offers are from Georgia, Florida State, Georgia Tech, Missouri, Tennessee, and West Virginia. He picked up 20 offers in 2023, and the Yellow Jackets offered Johnson in late August.

He finished his junior year with 1,494 total yards and 29 touchdowns. Johnson also racked up 68 total tackles. He was the second-leading receiver on the team with 770 receiving yards and eight touchdowns. Johnson had nine games in 2023 where he surpassed 100+ all-purpose yards in a game. When you turn on the tape, you will see several highlight plays including a stiff-arm on the way to the endzone. Of those 29 touchdowns he scored in 2023, 18 of them came on the ground. Douglas County likes to use Johnson in special red zone packages where the offense revolves around him and he is taking a direct snap.

One of his best games of the season came against Lee County in the quarterfinals. In that game, Johnson had 155 scrimmage yards and four touchdowns (three rushing, one receiving). He is a special talent and would be a great addition to the Georgia Tech program with his ability to make defenders miss in open space, a knack for big plays, and threatening ability in the return game.

Rabun Gap TE Marshall Pritchett

Pritchett announced his top 10 schools right before the new year including Georgia Tech, Florida State, Auburn, Miami, Michigan, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia Tech, and Wisconsin. He is one of the top prospects in the country at his position in 2025 and plans to take visits to colleges throughout the spring. Some of the main factors he is looking for before making a final decision about schools are relationships, player development, culture, and academics.

Pritchett stands at 6’5 and 210 pounds with a great ability to separate from defenders with his phenomenal route running. He has great releases and footwork that makes him tough to cover if you don't press him or get your hands on him early. He can beat you on go routes and is exceptional at coming down with 50/50 balls. Pritchett is also an excellent red-zone target that can feast on smaller defenders.

Pritchett led Rabun Gap to a 13-1 record in 2023 and was the second-leading receiver on the team by Trey Horne. Pritchett finished his junior year with 46 catches for 674 yards and six touchdowns. His Hudl film is exemplary and possesses everything you want to see at the tight-end position: physicality, blocking pass-catching dependability, and great hands.

Pritchett is a hot name in recruiting with a lot of teams after him. Even after he mentioned his top 10 schools last week, he picked up offers from Texas A&M and Arkansas the last few days. Another interesting note for Tech fans is that his brother is already at Georgia Tech.

Lawson Pritchett committed to Georgia Tech on December 20th and is a very talented safety from Rabun Gap-Nacoochee. Georgia Tech will look to go two for two and land both brothers this time next year.

Douglass (Atlanta) S Jontae Gilbert- Jontae Gilbert plays for the Douglass Astros in Atlanta, Georgia. Gilbert led the Astros to their first winning season since 2019 at 6-5 in 2023. Gilbert is a heavily coveted cornerback prospect in the country but also has some experience playing safety at Douglass. According to 247Sports Composite, Gilbert is rated as a four-star player, the No.28 player in the country, the No. 6 cornerback, and the No. 6 player in the state of Georgia.

He was previously committed to Ohio State before decommitting this past summer. Teams hot in pursuit currently are Clemson, Georgia Tech, and South Carolina. Clemson offered Gilbert in November. Gilbert has been a steady presence at Georgia Tech visiting the school four times in 2023 (January, April, July, and September).

Gilbert has great size at 6'1 and 185 pounds. He possesses great length and is a true lockdown corner known for being able to shut down a whole side of the field. His exceptional ball skills when the ball is in the air make him a tough player to throw the ball at. He has great fluidity in his movement and will take away your first read as a quarterback. Gilbert has also run track in his high school career.

He was named Region 5-3A defensive player of the year by Georgia High School Football Daily and was named to Recruit Georgia all-state list in 2023. He finished the season with 21 tackles, three tackles for loss, and an interception.

He has great upside on the next level at being a run defender and coming down in the box. Gilbert's ability to shed blocks and his tackling ability make him a force on defense combined with his coverage skills. When you roll his tape, you see a physical corner with an impressive frame that can make big plays and be a true impact player on defense.
