Georgia Tech remains in the top five of the ACC recruiting rankings

The dead period is lifted for only a little bit in the college football recruiting world, but it will be back for the entire month of August, meaning teams won't be able to host visits. The full attention of all coaching staff will turn to fall camp and getting ready for the 2023 season.

So how do the ACC recruiting rankings look heading into August? Not much different than they did last week actually.

For Georgia Tech, they have not added any new commitments, but they still maintain a top-five class in the ACC. The Yellow Jackets have a couple of targets on the board, even with 23 commitments in their class and they could pass North Carolina for No. 4 in the conference. Georgia Tech is not going to be able to catch Miami, Florida State, or Clemson, but they could plausibly finish with a top four-class in the conference.

Clemson landed another four-star commitment this week with Corian Gipson joining the Tigers class. Gipson is the No. 137 player in the country on 247Sports and it helped pull Clemson further ahead of Florida State.

Florida State remains at No. 2 for now, holding a slight lead over Miami. Clemson, Florida State, and Miami are comfortably ahead of the rest of the conference and I think that is only going to grow.

North Carolina holds a slight edge over Georgia Tech for the No. 4 class in the ACC and the Tar Heels have picked up some nice commitments as of late to pull ahead of Georgia Tech.

Duke, Pitt, and Virginia Tech remain 6-8 in the conference. The Blue Devils have fallen a little bit behind Georgia Tech now and it could be hard to pass them for No. 5.

Wake Forest, Syracuse, and Louisville are No. 9-11 and they are comfortably ahead of NC State, Virginia, and Boston College, who make up the bottom of the conference.
