Who Could Be The Top 2024 Targets For Georgia Tech At Wide Receiver?

Georgia Tech has offered a number of talented 2024 prospects at wide receiver

With Brent Key putting the finishing touches on his first coaching staff this week, the offers are coming in fast and furious for the 2024 class.

Key is putting an emphasis on recruiting, especially in the state of Georgia. Key is hoping to improve upon the 2023 class, which ranked near the bottom of the ACC and 58th in the country according to the 247Sports Composite.

Georgia Tech was able to bring in three wide receivers in the class of 2023 and all are talented players. Bryce Dopson (Brookwood, GA), Zion Taylor (Norcross, GA), and Eric Singleton Jr (Alexander, GA) are guys that could have an instant impact right away for the Yellow Jackets.

With the 2023 class now in the rearview, who could Georgia Tech make their top targets at the receiver position for the 2024 recruiting class?

Let's start by looking at some of the prospects that either new Georgia Tech wide receivers coach Josh Crawford has offered or had been offered prior to Crawford's arrival.

Braylon Staley (Aiken, SC) was offered right before the New Year and it was another ACC offer for the talented 6'0 175 LBS wide receiver. Aiken also holds other offers from Boston College, Duke, Cincinnati, Coastal Carolina, Miami, NC State, North Carolina, Virginia Tech, and Wake Forest.

One guy to potentially keep an eye on is Jordan Bride (Alexander, GA). Bride played at the same high school as 2023 Georgia Tech signee Eric Singleton. Bride was offered in 2021 and there is no sign he is a target of Crawford's, but the connection needed to be pointed out.

A 2024 prospect that holds a Georgia Tech offer, but was also offered by Western Kentucky when Crawford was the co-offensive coordinator and wide receivers coach was Jordan Shipp (Providence Day School, NC). Shipp is a talented receiver with the size at 62 195 LBS to be a dangerous receiver and is on the radar of some other teams as well. Boston College, Duke, Louisville, Michigan, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Virginia Tech are some of the other offers that Shipp holds.

While I think Staley and Shipp might wind up being the top targets for Georgia Tech, it should be noted that the top wide receiver in the state of Georgia is currently uncommitted and does hold a Georgia Tech offer. Zion Ragins (Jones County, GA) might not be the biggest receiver, but he possesses a ton of speed and there is a reason why most major programs across the country have offered and recruited him. Ragins holds offers from Georgia, Florida State, Miami, Auburn, Florida, Tennessee, Oklahoma, Texas, Notre Dame, Michigan State, and UCF. He will be a highly sought-after prospect and I am interested to see how big of a push Key and the staff could potentially make.

Georgia Tech currently has one commitment in its 2024 class and it is four-star quarterback Jakhari Williams (Macon, GA). Williams is the centerpiece for this class and the guy Key hopes to build around for his 2024 class.

It is still very early in the 2024 recruiting cycle and there are going to be plenty of more offers to come in at this position in the coming months, but these names should be on every Georgia Tech fan's radar already.
