Georgia Tech Running Back Antonio Martin Enters Transfer Portal

Tech loses former high-profile recruit to transfer portal.

Following Saturday's spring game, Georgia Tech is going to be losing redshirt freshman running back Antonio Martin to the transfer portal.

Martin, an Atlanta-area native, came to Tech as part of the 2022 class. Per Rivals.com, he graded out as a four-star recruit and looked to be a part of the running back competition for the 2023 season.

While the Jackets' RB room was always going to be led by Dontae Smith, Trey Cooley and Jamie Felix, there's every chance he could have slid into a depth role. However, he only received two carries for nine yards in the spring game.

Earlier today, Martin announced his decision to transfer. He retains four years of eligibility and will enter the second transfer portal window, which is open from April 15th to 30th.

In his year at Tech, Martin did not appear in a game for the Yellow Jackets.

Best of luck to Antonio!
