Haynes King becomes the fastest Georgia Tech quarterback to 1,000 yards since 1999

King is 2nd in the ACC in total passing yards this season

It is hard to imagine that Georgia Tech quarterback Haynes King could be having a much better start to the season. 

When coming over from Texas A&M, some did not think he was going to win the job and when he did, most were unsure of how well he would play. 

He has been great for the Yellow Jackets so far this season and Georgia Tech has not had quarterback play this good in quite some time. 

Yesterday, King became the fastest Yellow Jacket to 1,000 yards passing since 1999 when the quarterback was of course Georgia Tech legend Joe Hamilton. He threw for 222 yards and two touchdowns yesterday in the win over the Demon Deacons.

King is now 2nd in the ACC in passing yards, trailing only North Carolina's Drake Maye, who is one of the top quarterbacks in the country and the preseason ACC player of the year. 

Under King, Georgia Tech is 4th in the ACC in total yards per game and 5th in passing yards per game. After having one of the worst offenses in the country last year, it has been quite the revelation to have a quarterback come in and guide the offense as well as he has. His best stat though: Only two interceptions and one of them was a tipped pass in the opening game against Louisville.
