Adam Morrison on Gonzaga's road game at Santa Clara: ‘It’ll be a big test for us’

Bulldogs face just their second true road game of the season when they take on the Broncos

The Gonzaga Bulldogs (11-4, 2-0 WCC) face their first test in West Coast Conference play away from Spokane on Thursday when they head south to take on Santa Clara (11-6, 2-0 WCC). The Broncos have reloaded with talent as good as any program has in the league over the last three seasons.

Herb Sendek's squad got off on the right foot to start conference play with road victories over Loyola Marymount and Pepperdine last week. Arizona transfer Adama-Alpha Bal was pivotal in both wins, as he averaged 24.5 points. The 6-foot-7 guard is third in the league overall at 15.9 points per game, while fifth-year guard Carlos Marshall Jr. chips in 14.2 points and 5.6 rebounds per game.

The Bulldogs passed tests of confidence in blowout victories over Pepperdine and San Diego. After a rough stretch of 3-point shooting to end nonconference action, Gonzaga went a combined 18-for-42 (42.9%) from beyond the arc over its last two games.
