Gonzaga's Brian Michaelson on why the Bulldogs will 'have to be a lot better' to win at Santa Clara

Gonzaga faces first road test in WCC play at Santa Clara

The Gonzaga Bulldogs got off on the right foot to start West Coast Conference action last week, with blowout wins over Pepperdine and San Diego in Spokane.

No. 23 Gonzaga (11-4, 2-0 WCC) saw a lot more shots go down from beyond the arc in both victories, going 8-for-19 in the 86-60 win over the Waves and 10-of-23 in the 101-74 triumph over the Toreros. Post play played a key role as well, highlighted by a career-high 22 points from Ben Gregg on Saturday.

Many things that didn't go right in nonconference play weren't apparent in the first week of league play, but according to Gonzaga assistant coach Brian Michaelson, the Bulldogs will need to be even better on the road against Santa Clara on Thursday.

Michaelson broke down the matchup with the Broncos on a new episode of Gonzaga Nation.
