How to watch Gonzaga Bulldogs vs. San Francisco Dons: TV channel, live stream for 2024 WCC Tournament semifinal game
The Gonzaga Bulldogs are set to take on the San Francisco Dons in the semifinal round of the West Coast Conference Tournament in Las Vegas.
Gonzaga (24-6, 14-2 WCC) earned a triple-bye as the No. 2 seed in the conference tournament after it closed the regular season on an eight-game winning streak, which featured wins on the road over Kentucky, San Francisco and Saint Mary's. Since they're last loss to the Gaels on Feb. 3, the Bulldogs rank second in offensive efficiency per Bart Torvik and have the No. 1 effective field goal percentage (62.1%). In totality, Gonzaga finished first in the WCC in scoring (85.6 points), team field goal percentage (51.9%), assists per game (16.3) and blocks per game (4.1).
Graham Ike had a dominant end to the regular season with seven consecutive 20-point games. The 6-foot-9 post became the sixth player in WCC history to lead the league in scoring (18.4 points) and field goal percentage (64.0%) in conference-only games.
Ike, Ryan Nembhard and Anton Watson were all named to the All-WCC first team. Nolan Hickman earned second-team honors and Braden Huff was named to the All-WCC freshman team.
Andrew Nembhard thinks the Zags will 'make some noise' in the 2024 NCAA Tournament: 'None of these teams want to see Gonzaga in the first round'
San Francisco (23-9, 12-5 WCC) finished third in the WCC standings after losing three of its final four regular season games. The Dons were second in the league in scoring (77.9 points) and field goal percentage (49.0%) with WCC Newcomer of the Year Jonathan Mogbo leading the charge. The 6-foot-8 post averaged 14.5 points and a league-best 10.2 rebounds.
Mogbo and junior guard Marcus Williams were named All-WCC first team. Williams had the third-most steals in the league with 45 and was fifth in assists per game with 3.8 to go with 13.9 points per game.
Ryan Beasley was a spark plug off the bench with 8.1 points, 2.4 rebounds and 1.3 steals per game, good enough for WCC Freshman of the Year honors.
Gonzaga has won 29 consecutive games against San Francisco, the latest being an 86-68 win at the Chase Center on Feb. 29. The Zags are 4-1 against the Dons in WCC Tournament games. It'll be the third season in a row the two meet with a chance to play in the championship game.
The Bulldogs have appeared in the WCC championship game in each of the last 26 seasons and are 29-2 in the semifinal round. They've won all 15 semifinal games in Las Vegas and haven't lost their first game in the tournament since 1997.
For San Francisco, it seeks the program's first conference title game appearance since 1998 when it beat Gonzaga, 80-67, to qualify for the NCAA Tournament.
