Gonzaga Bulldogs 96, Portland Pilots 64: Live updates recap, highlights from WCC men's basketball game
The Gonzaga Bulldogs got back in the win column with some hot 3-point shooting in a SCORE win over Portland on Wednesday.
Gonzaga (17-6, 8-2 WCC) went 15-of-33 from behind the arc, its season-high for makes and attempts, and knocked down three-straight from distance to start the game.
Braden Huff paced with 25 points on 11-for-16 shooting from the field and grabbed seven rebounds. Anton Watson had 20 points, five rebounds and four assists. Gonzaga had 21 assists on 38 made field goals and led by as many as 37 points in the second half.
Portland (9-16, 3-6 WCC) started slow, missing its first 10 field goal attempts, and shot 35.9% from the field overall. Juan Sebastian Gorosito paced with 13 points, while Bol Dengdit and Vukasin Masic had 12. Leading scorer Tyler Robertson (16.5 points per game) was held to five points on 2-for-9 shooting from the field.
Gonzaga has won 17-straight over Portland and is 42-6 all-time at home.

SECOND HALF:
Gonzaga 92, Portland 60 (2:32): Mark Few cleared his bench to ride out the blowout win over the Pilots. Krajnovic drilled Gonzaga's 15th 3-pointer of the night on a wide-open look from the left wing.
Gonzaga 83, Portland 50 (7:12): A 9-0 scoring run, capped off by a steal and score from Luka Krajnovic, extended Gonzaga's lead to 33, the largest of the night. The Pilots started 10-of-17 from the field but went scoreless for over two minutes.
Gonzaga 72, Portland 48 (9:51): Dengdit's layup with 11:54 left cut Portland's deficit to less than 20 before Huff rattled off 10 straight points, including two 3-pointers, to keep the Bulldogs ahead comfortably. His last post score put him at 21 points for the night, his third 20-point game this season.
Gonzaga 57, Portland 33 (16:04): Both teams started 3-of-5 from the field out of the break. Ike picked up his fourth foul at the 16:04 mark after getting Robertson with an elbow, prompting Huff to head to the scorer's table.
HALFTIME: Gonzaga 50, Portland 23: Bulldogs cruised into the locker room with a 27-point lead after going 9-of-17 on 3-point attempts and holding the Pilots to just nine made field goals total. Watson led with 14 points, while Huff added 11 and five rebounds.
FIRST HALF:
Gonzaga 39, Portland 20 (3:49): The Bulldogs continued to make it tough on the Pilots, who missed 21 of their first 29 field goal attempts. Stromer got on the board with a pair of free throws, while Ike picked up his second personal foul after hooking Robertson on a post-up.
Gonzaga 35, Portland 16 (6:22): A cold stretch from deep saw the Bulldogs without a basket for nearly five minutes until Huff got a score down low at the 7:17 mark, followed by a 3-pointer from Stromer in the corner. Yuto Wamanouchi-Williams had six points early for Portland.
Gonzaga 27, Portland 11 (11:32): Robertson couldn't cut into Portland's deficit with a 3-pointer, leading to Watson driving and finding a wide-open Hickman for Gonzaga's sixth triple of the first half. Six different players scored for Gonzaga early on.
Gonzaga 16, Portland 1 (16:05): Bulldogs kept their foot on the gas as the Pilots continued to sag off defensively. Nembhard drilled a 3-pointer over Dengdit, followed by a drive and score from Watson the next time down. Portland missed its first six shot attempts.
Gonzaga 9, Portland 0 (18:25): Bulldogs came out firing from behind the arc. Hickman and Watson connected on wide-open looks in the first minute, followed by a swing pass to Gregg.
