'This is Gonzaga's league until someone takes it from them': Dan Dickau previews WCC slate for Bulldogs

Gonzaga begins West Coast Conference action Thursday against Pepperdine in the Spokane Arena

Two months into the 2023-24 college basketball season this much is clear: The West Coast Conference is not as strong as it was last season.

The WCC had been on a steady trajectory upward over the last few years, but the loss of BYU and a slow start by Saint Mary's has set the conference back.

Still, the WCC isn't as top-heavy as it used to be. Gonzaga, after years of running the table with little resistance, now faces stiff competition against Saint Mary's and San Francisco, with Santa Clara not far behind due to Herb Sendek's ability to develop pro-level talent. The race to the top is as wide open as it's been in recent years, making for a compelling two months of basketball.

Former Gonzaga All-American Dan Dickau explains why he believes the Zags can win the WCC once again in a new episode of Gonzaga Nation.
