What Anton Watson and Braden Huff said after Gonzaga's win over Portland

Bulldogs frontcourt tandem combined for 45 points in 96-64 win over the Pilots

SPOKANE - There wasn't much Portland could do to throw Anton Watson and Braden Huff out of rhythm on Wednesday, as the Gonzaga Bulldogs cruised to a 96-64 win on the strength of their frontcourt.

Huff, who came off the bench when Graham Ike got into foul trouble, dropped 25 points on 11-for-16 shooting from the field in a season-high 24 minutes. The redshirt freshman's touch from beyond the arc kept the Pilots off balance, as he went 3-for-5 on 3-point attempts. That along with his feel around the rim kept the Bulldogs' offense on a steady pace.

When asked about Huff's touch around the rim, Gonzaga coach Mark Few cited his hand-eye coordination and his pickleball skills. Huff confirmed he is a good pickleball player.

“We played a little pickleball at coach Few’s house,” Huff said after the game. "I like to think I’m pretty good.”

Watson recorded his fourth 20-point game of the season, along with five rebounds and four assists, in just 25 minutes of action. He was 9-of-11 from the field and didn't commit a turnover. He was also 2-of-3 from beyond the arc and is now shooting 44.4% from the 3-point line.

“Those first three threes went down and I feel like that got everyone’s confidence going,” Watson said after the game.
