The West Coast Conference had two players selected in the first round of the 2023 NBA Draft.
Santa Clara's Brandin Podziemski and Gonzaga's Julian Strawther were both picked in the first round on Thursday night. Pepperdine's Maxwell Lewis was drafted in the second round by the Los Angeles Lakers.
Podziemski was drafted No. 19 by the Golden State Warriors. The Warriors covet his 6-foot-5 frame and shooting ability at the two-guard spot.
In a surprise move, the Denver Nuggets traded up to draft Strawther with the No. 29 pick. Gonzaga's Drew Timme was not drafted.
