The Green Wave secured hosting privileges for the American Conference Championship by beating UTSA 29-16 this past Saturday. Tulane have been included in every set of College Football Playoff rankings released this season and in 11 consecutive sets of CFP rankings.

Liberty improved to 12-0 this past weekend after beating UTEP 42-28. The Flames are the only undefeated G5 team remaining in the nation.

Tulane will face SMU in the AAC title game, which kicks off this Saturday, December 2 at 4 PM ET on ABC. Liberty host New Mexico State on Friday, December 1 at 7 PM ET on CBS Sports Network.

It's hard to say if a loss in that game for Tulane would cost them the New Years Six bid. The committee places high value on the AAC championship, but also have indicated they like to reward undefeated teams. This creates added intrigue around the CUSA championship and give Liberty even more incentive to win by a significant margin.

The highest ranked G5 team in next week's CFP Rankings will receive a bid in a New Yea's Six bowl game.
