Former Tulane safety Macon Clark is headed to the Canadian Football League. The defending Grey Cup champion Montreal Alouettes signed the Saint Rose, Louisiana native on Wednesday.

Spending five seasons with the Green Wave, Clark intercepted nine passes with 18 passes defended and four forced fumbles. He was a first-team All-AAC selection in 2022. The safety had one of his forced fumbles in Tulane's historic win over USC in the Cotton Bowl.

Clark was not selected in the 2023 NFL Draft. He spent most of the 2023 season on the Chicago Bears' practice squad, but was waived on October 4.

Montreal finished the 2023 regular season with a record of 11-7 and ended up winning the franchise's eighth Grey Cup. 

CFL training camps for the upcoming season are set to open on Sunday, May 14, 2024.
