Tulane just keep winning as they look for their second consecutive trip to a New Year's Six bowl game. Those hopes stayed alive in Week Nine as they held on at Rice, 30-28, for their seventh win of the season, moving them up to #21 in the AP Poll.

In addition to that victory being their sixth in a row, the Green Wave produced several other head-turning stats and numerical figures that told the story of just how they were able to pull out the two-point win in Houston.

11 Minutes & 31 Seconds

That's how long Tulane held the ball in the fourth quarter. Up nine points at the start of the quarter, the Green Wave had two possessions in the quarter, but made the most of them. Their final drive resulted in no points, but lasted 16 plays and just over eight minutes. The 3:21 that Rice had the ball was not enough for them to score twice and close the gap on their visitors.

189 Passing Yards

That's the passing yardage that the Tulane defense held Rice quarterback JT Daniels to on Saturday. It was Daniels' second-lowest passing output this season. Daniels entered the game as the AAC's leading passer in multiple categories, including yards per game and total yards. He remains in that spot after this game.

12 Tackles

Junior linebacker Jesus Machado produced a career high in tackles on Saturday. He was the leader of a defense that allowed just 82 rushing yards from the Owls. The Miami native is up to 63 on the season.

153 Rushing Yards

Freshman running back Makhi Hughes produced a season/career high against the Owls. Hughes has rushed for at least 120 yards in four straight games. He's averaging 5.5 yards per carry on the season. His 43-yard carry on the opening play was his longest carry of the season, as well.

19 Games Won in Two Years

With the victory, Willie Fritz has now fifty games as the head coach of Tulane. Fritz is 68-53 as an FBS head coach. He'll shoot for his 69th victory when Tulane visits East Carolina on November 4.
