Boise State's Ashton Jeanty, Liberty's Kaidon Salter Named Finalists For Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award
Five finalists for the Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award were announced on Thursday. Of the five, two were from Group of Five schools: Boise State running back Ashton Jeanty and Liberty quarterback Kaidon Salter. Both are sophomores.
Texas running back Jonathan Brooks, Oklahoma State running back Ollie Gordon, and Alabama quarterback Jalen Milroe were the other finalists.

The Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award annually recognizes the top offensive player in FBS who also "exhibits the enduring characteristics that define Earl Campbell: integrity, performance, teamwork, sportsmanship, drive, community, and tenacity."
In addition, the nominee must meet one or more of the following criteria: born in Texas and/or graduated from a Texas High School and/or played at a Texas-based junior college or four-year Division I Texas college.

Jeanty ranks second nationally in yards from scrimmage (1,814) and all-purpose yards per game (164.9). He was also named Mountain West Conference Offensive Player of the Year. Jeanty played high school football at Lone Star High School in Frisco, Texas.
Salter was named the Conference USA Offensive Player of the Year, leading Liberty to a perfect 13-0 record so far. The Flames face Oregon in the Fiesta Bowl on New Years Day. He's also first in FBS in yards per completion with 16.98. Salter is a native of Cedar Hill, Texas and a product of Cedar Hill High School.
The winner will be announced in Tyler, Texas on January 10, 2024
