The Aggies needed double overtime to take down the New Mexico Lobos on Black Friday. However, Utah State reached Bowl eligibility at 6-6 with a 44-41 win.

On the final play of the game, quarterback Levi Williams was unable to handle a shotgun snap, which was subsequently kicked by Rahsul Faison. Williams was able to pick the ball up, avoid several tacklers, and carry the ball 25 yards to the goal line, where he overpowered two New Mexico defenders to score the game winning touchdown.

Williams finished with 25 carries for 153 yards and three rushing touchdowns. Williams also completed 16 passes on 27 attempts for 198 yards with two touchdowns and an interception.

Excluding the shortened 2020 season, Utah State have now reached bowl eligibility in six consecutive seasons. Blake Anderson has now achieved that feat each of his three seasons coaching the team.
