Just a short amount of time after losing their head coach in the middle of spring practice, media reports indicate that the Georgia State program may have solutions in mind.

Bruce Feldman and Seth Emerson of The Athletic reported Wednesday afternoon that Georgia running backs coach Dell McGee and Georgia Tech offensive coordinator Buster Faulkner are receiving serious consideration for the Panthers' open position.

McGee is a former successful high school coach in the state of Georgia who also spent time at Georgia Southern and Auburn as an assistant. Faulkner is a Georgia native and former Valdosta State quarterback, who also spent time as an offensive analyst at Georgia.

Either McGee or Faulkner would replace Shawn Elliott, who resigned his position earlier this month to join the South Carolina staff as tight ends coach.

Following the resignation of Elliott, Georgia State postponed spring practice and their previously scheduled spring game. New dates for either have not been announced and likely won't until after a new coach is finalized.
