The win marked the first time in 43 years that Grambling surpassed the 20-win barrier, with the team's last 20-win season taking place in the 1979-80 season when they went 22-9.

Grambling State extended its winning streak to seven games.  Also, the Tigers are 13-3 in the SWAC and sit as the No. 1 seed above Alcorn State (13-3 SWAC) should the regular season ends today.

GSU had a great shooting night, making 53.8% of their attempts (28-of-52) from the floor. Carte'are Gordon led the Tigers with 22 points, while Shwadarius Cowart scored 18 points, and Cameron Christon and Tra'Michael Moton contributed 12 and 11 points, respectively.

Grambling started the game strong with an 8-0 run, but Bethune-Cookman worked their way back into the game and tied it 24-24 heading into halftime.

In the second half, the Tigers responded to the Wildcats taking the lead early on, with Cowart and Gordon leading the way down the stretch, combining for a 12-1 run to build a commanding 64-50 lead with 42 seconds left in the game.

Kevin Davis led Bethune-Cookman with 17 points and nine rebounds.
