Deion Sanders is facing serious health complications and may require amputation of his left foot, according to the latest installment of the "Thee Pregame Show." "He could lose the foot," said one of Sanders' surgeons. The former Jackson State and current University of Colorado head football coach revealed the news after meeting with his medical team comprising vascular surgeons Dr. Donald Jacobs and Dr. Max Wohlauer, orthopedic surgeon Dr. Ken Hunt, and athletic trainer Lauren Askevold.

"I can't feel the bottom of my foot," Coach Prime told the medical professionals. The issue for Coach Prime is poor circulation causing him to lose feeling at the bottom of his foot. One medical professional told Sanders the pressure level in the area had significantly dropped, resulting in numbness.

"As you know, I've faced some medical challenges with my foot, but I've never said 'WHY ME' - I keep moving forward, progressing. "I'm Coach Prime, and I'm built for this!" Sanders Deion Sanders' Instagram account

"You just have to understand what the risks are. And so things can cascade," Dr. Jacobs told Sanders. "Well, I know what the risks are," Sanders sharply replied. "I only have eight toes, so I'm pretty sure I understand."

Sanders, a classic workaholic, continues to work through his medical problems finding it challenging to rest. Since leaving Jackson State for Colorado, he's been in constant motion as the Buffaloes' leader. Last week he canceled a trip to Morehouse College's Mega Football Camp because of his health issues.

The surgeons give Sanders a perspective of his options before preparations for his first season at Colorado. "And if there were complications, and had time to deal with some would be different than going into the season," one surgeon advised Coach Prime.

In 2021, Deion Sanders had an extended hospital stay due to developing blood clots following a medical procedure to repair previous toe injuries in his left foot. Those problems happened during his college and National Football League playing days. Physicians performed nine surgical procedures on Sanders and eventually amputated two toes causing him to miss three games in his first regular season at Jackson State.

Colorado is set to open the 2023 regular season against TCU on Sept. 2.
