Deion Sanders will undergo additional surgeries to remove a blood clot in his leg and straighten two toes on his left foot. Due to a scheduled operation on July 20, the former Jackson State coach won't attend his first Pac-12 Media Day at Resorts World Las Vegas.

In June, surgeons removed two blood clots from the Pro Football Hall of Famer's thigh and below his knee. The medical professionals discovered another blood in his right leg during the surgical procedure at UCHealth University of Colorado Hospital in Aurora, Colorado. He was discharged from the hospital by the doctors on Sunday, June 25.

Sanders, 55, announced the second round of surgeries on his Instagram account with his assistant athletic trainer Lauren Askevold. The Colorado Buffaloes head coach spoke about his condition and pending surgeries. "I apologize that I'm not going to be at the PAC 12 Media Day, due to I have to have another surgery tomorrow," Sanders said. "A couple of surgeries, pretty much, right?" He asked Askevold. "Okay, one in my leg as a removal of the clot."

SANDERS BEFORE THE FIRST BLOOD CLOT SURGERY

"I met with my doctors a week ago, got hammer toes in two toes, and they want to straighten those out," the former Jackson State head coach told fans. "I'm not receiving enough blood flow in order to do that surgery and another surgery to fix the dislocation of the foot, as well.

So this is where we are now. There is no talk of amputation. There's no talk of any of that whatsoever. The doctors were just telling me worse come to worse, this was going to happen, but I believe in staying right so we never have to take that left."

Askevold showed his left foot's toes that the surgeons plan to straighten for Sanders. Coach Prime stated that he will be with his team when Colorado faces TCU in the season opener. "I promise you we're going to TCU; I'm running out in front of our team. I promise you that." The Colorado vs. TCU game will occur at Amon G. Carter Stadium with an 11:00 AM CT kickoff on Sept. 2.

Deion Sanders was the 21st head coach at Jackson State University.  He led the Tigers to two-straight SWAC championships before accepting the head coach position at Colorado.
