BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Indiana's busy week of official recruiting visits continues with Tyler Betsey.

Betsey, 6-foot-8 small forward, is scheduled to begin his visit to Bloomington on Wednesday. He joins four-star guard Jaeden Mustaf and five-star guard Boogie Fland as recruits that have visited Indiana in the last week.

Among class of 2024 prospects, Betsey is ranked No. 14 by Rivals, who considers him a five-star recruit. Most recruiting sites tab Betsey as a four-star recruit, as he's ranked No. 15 by On3, No. 28 by 247Sports and No. 49 in the ESPN Top 100.

Betsey attends St. Thomas More School in Oakdale, Conn. He was named 2022-23 Gatorade Connecticut Boys Basketball Player of the Year after averaging 21 points, five rebounds and three assists per game during his junior season.

Betsey plays for the New York Renaissance AAU program on the Nike EYBL Circuit. He was also invited to the Pangos All-American Camp on June 4-6 in Las Vegas, which features some of the nation's top players in the class of 2024, 2025, and 2026.

Betsey recently completed an official visit to UConn, and he plans to visit Creighton after he visits Indiana. He holds scholarship offers from a variety of programs, including Alabama, Auburn, Cincinnati, Duke, Georgia Tech, Iowa, Kansas, LSU, Memphis, Michigan State, Nebraska, Notre Dame, Providence, Rutgers, St. John's, TCU, Virginia Tech, Washington and others.

Indiana offered Betsey on Sept. 13, 2022, and he was impressed by coach Mike Woodson's player development last year.

“I saw what they did with Jalen Hood-Schifino," Betsey told On3's Jamie Shaw. "They created a plan for him; they stuck to the plan and didn’t listen to what people on the outside were saying. A lot of people were saying he wasn’t a one-and-done when the season started, and they developed him into a first-round pick. Coach Woodson was a player, and he coached in the NBA. He could help me get there.”
