BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – One of the nation's top high school basketball players is visiting Indiana University this week.

Johnuel "Boogie" Fland begins his visit to Bloomington on Tuesday. Fland is a 6-foot-3 point guard from Archbishop Stepinac High School in White Plains, N.Y.

A consensus five-star recruit in the class of 2024, Fland is ranked No. 6 in the ESPN Top 100, No. 7 by On3, No. 9 by Rivals and No. 13 by 247Sports.

Playing for the PSA Cardinals on the Nike EYBL Circuit this spring, Fland averaged 15.0 points, 3.8 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 1.7 steals per game.

Fland was invited to the 2023 Pangos All-American Camp on June 4-6 in Las Vegas, Nev., where he competed against some of the nation's top players in the class of 2024, 2025 and 2026.

Across four games, he averaged 18.0 points, 5.5 assists, 4.5 rebounds and shot 35.3 percent from 3-point range on his way to second-team honors. Fland's trip to the Pangos All-American Camp was highlighted by a performance where he totaled 30 points, six rebounds and six assists on 7-for-10 3-point shooting.

On3's Jamie Shaw listed Fland among the "other standouts" at the Pangos All-American camp. Shaw named Flory Bidunga, another Indiana recruit from Kokomo, Ind., as the camp's MVP.

"Fland was getting everyone’s best, and he still came out on top of most matchups," Shaw wrote. "The 6-foot-3 guard shot the ball well, scored in the mid-range, and dished out assists, setting up teammates.
