BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – It's an important Sunday for Indiana, both on the court and from a recruiting standpoint.

The Hoosiers play Northwestern at 3 p.m. ET inside Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall, and Mikel Brown Jr. plans to take an unofficial visit to Bloomington. Jalen Montonati also has an unofficial visit scheduled to Indiana this weekend, according to multiple reports.

Brown is a 6-foot-2 point guard in the class of 2025 out of Overtime Elite in Atlanta, Ga. He's on the border of four and five-star status, depending on the recruiting service. Brown is ranked No. 15 in the nation by Rivals, No. 16 by 247Sports, No. 20 by ESPN and No. 32 by On3.

Overtime Elite is a basketball league and school launched in 2021 for players between the ages of 16-20. In the 2023 NBA Draft, brothers Amen and Ausar Thompson from Overtime Elite became the fourth and fifth overall picks, respectively.

Brown and his Overtime Elite team, Cold Hearts, played Thursday at Broad Ripple High school in Indianapolis, Ind. and lost 92-82 to RWE. Indiana coach Mike Woodson was there to watch Brown, who finished second on the team with 13 points on 3-for-8 shooting, eight assists, five rebounds and one steal. Across 15 games in the 2023-24 season, Brown is averaging 12.9 points and 5.5 assists while shooting 37.6% on 3-point attempts.

Brown holds offers from Alabama, Arizona State, Auburn, Baylor, Florida, Florida State, Georgia Tech, Indiana, Kansas, Kansas State, Maryland, Michigan, Ole Miss, Presbyterian, Seton Hall, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Texas A&M, Texas Tech, Coastal Carolina and UCF.

Brown recently joined adidas, which is the official brand sponsor for Indiana, through a partnership "that will propel them to success on and off the court."

Indiana currently does not have any commitments in the class of 2025, though the vast majority of that class remains uncommitted. Woodson's lone incoming recruit in the class of 2024 is five-star small forward Liam McNeeley from Montverde Academy.
