Indiana Continues Push For 5-Star Point Guard Boogie Fland

Indiana head coach Mike Woodson and associate head coach Yasir Rosemond have an in-home visit scheduled for Tuesday with Boogie Fland, a five-star point guard in the class of 2024.

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Indiana's pursuit of five-star point guard Johnuel "Boogie" Fland continues.

On Tuesday, head coach Mike Woodson and associate head coach Yasir Rosemond are scheduled to conduct an in-home visit with Fland, one of Indiana's top recruiting targets in the class of 2024.

And on Wednesday, Woodson is one of five speakers at the New York Basketball Coaches Clinic at Archbishop Stepinac High School, where Fland recently began his senior year. Along with Woodson, other speakers include Kentucky coach John Calipari, Iona coach Tobin Anderson, Yale coach James Jones and Alabama coach Nate Oats.

A 6-foot-3, 165-pound guard, Fland is a consensus five-star recruit, ranked No. 7 in the nation by Rivals, No. 15 by 247 Sports, No. 15 by On3 and No. 18 in the ESPN Top 100.

In July, Fland announced a top-eight list of Indiana, Kentucky, Alabama, Michigan, North Carolina, Maryland, UConn and St. John's. He has taken official visits to Indiana, Michigan and Kentucky and has visits scheduled to Alabama and Maryland in September.

Fland's trip to Bloomington in June counts as a junior year official visit, so he can still take a senior year official visit to Indiana this fall. Nothing is scheduled yet, but this would be an important step in the Hoosiers' efforts to land a commitment.

Indiana does not currently have any commitments in the class of 2024, but coach Mike Woodson and staff recently hosted official visits for a trio of highly-ranked recruits from Montverde Academy: Liam McNeeley, Derik Queen and Curtis Givens III.
