Indiana Center Kel'el Ware Reportedly Misses NBA Pro Day With Shoulder Injury
BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Indiana hosted its second-ever NBA Pro Day on Friday, but center Kel'el Ware did not participate due to a shoulder injury, according to college basketball analyst Jeff Goodman, who spoke to an NBA executive present at the Pro Day.
The 7-foot Ware was a top-10 recruit and 2022 McDonald's All-American out of high school, but he had an underwhelming freshman year at Oregon. He averaged 6.6 points, 4.1 points and 1.3 blocks while playing 15.8 minutes per game.
Ware transferred to Indiana this offseason, and many still believe he has NBA potential. Along with the injury report, Goodman posted a comment from an anonymous NBA executive regarding Ware.
“He has a lot to prove this year - especially with his motor," the executive told Goodman. He’s obviously talented, and someone will probably take him in the first round due to his upside.”
