Opening Line: 'Tough at Home' Maryland Favored Over No. 21 Indiana on Tuesday

Indiana has been playing great lately, winning five straight games and moving back into the national rankings. The Hoosiers travel to Maryland on Tuesday, and they're the underdog to a Terrapins team that is 5-0 at home in the Big Ten, covering all five times. Here's the opening point spread, plus a great breakdown on both teams vs. the number.

COLLEGE PARK, Md. — Indiana is on a five-game heater and back in the national rankings, but oddsmakers are showing more respect for how good Maryland is at home when setting the opening line for Tuesday night's game in College Parks.

The Terrapins, who are 5-0 at home in Big Ten – and 0-5 on the road — are 2.5-point favorites over the Hoosiers. Indiana is an underdog despite winning five straight games — including two on the road — in the 9 p.m. ET matchup at the Xfinity Center.

Indiana has not been good on the road for years, but things seem to be changing. The Hoosiers won 80-65 at Illinois as an underdog, and won last Wednesday at Minnesota, as well. Indiana also won at Maryland last season, taking a 68-55 victory as a 1.5-point favorite.

Maryland has been a weird team all year. For as good as they've played at times, they've been ripped apart several times, too. They lost at home to UCLA by 27, lost at Michigan by 35 and suffered double-digit losses at Iowa and Rutgers. No telling which team shows up on Tuesday night.
