BLOOMINGTON, Ind. — Indiana came away with a thrilling 74-68 victory over Iowa on Tuesday night, and they did it thanks to a night to remember from senior and Bloomington native Anthony Leal, who scored a career-high 13 points.

Indiana jumped out to a big 17-point lead in the half but had to hold off several Iowa runs. They gave it all up, but then Gabe Cupps hit a three-point with 1:28 to go in the game to give Indiana the lead 69-68. They made one stop after another to close out the game.

The Hoosiers got 7-foot center Kel'el Ware back after missing two straight games with an ankle injury. But just two-plus minutes into the game, starting forward Malik Reneau went down with an ankle injury and did not return. Ware, who was hobbling through much of the game, gutted it out and still had 23 points and 10 rebounds in 35 minutes of action.

The Hoosiers also lost Xavier Johnson to injury in the final three minutes of the game. He took a hard foul while driving to the basket and landed awkwardly. He was taken to the locker room and did not return.

Indiana is back in action on Saturday, taking on Penn State at Assembly Hall. The game starts at Noon ET.
