With Michigan playing in the College Football Playoff National Championship Game on Monday, Jan. 8, Big Ten Network has decided to take its coverage to Houston. The network announced its plans on Thursday.

Big Ten Network provided on-site coverage for the three conference teams competing in New Year's Six bowl games this year. It made appearances at the Rose Bowl (Michigan-Alabama), Cotton Bowl (Ohio State-Missouri) and Peach Bowl (Penn State-Ole Miss).

Michigan will play Washington with the national title hanging in the balance. Network personalities Dave Revsine, Nicole Auerbach and Jake Butt will travel to NRG Stadium in Stadium for coverage. 

Rick Pizzo, Mike Hall, Gerry DiNardo, Anthony Herron and Howard Griffith will remain at the network's studio for coverage of the game. Below is the statement and schedule from Big Ten Network.

"Coverage for the National Championship game begins on Saturday, Jan. 6, at 10 a.m. ET with B1G Live: Michigan National Championship Media Day as Revsine, Butt and Auerbach report from Michigan’s media day in Houston. Hall and Griffith will react to Michigan’s press conferences and preview Monday’s game on B1G Live at 11 a.m. ET. On-site coverage of Washington’s media day kicks off at 11:30 a.m. ET on B1G Live: Washington National Championship Media Day.

"On Sunday, B1G Live: National Championship Head Coaches Press Conference will air the press conference for both head coaches at 10 a.m. ET., and The B1G Show will feature continued coverage of the matchup between Michigan and Washington at 10 p.m. ET.

"On Monday, Jan. 8, full coverage ahead of the championship game will begin at noon ET with two hours of B1G Today and continue with B1G Live: National Championship Pregame at 6:30 p.m. ET. Following the game, B1G Live: National Championship Postgame will air at 11 p.m. ET with continued analysis on The B1G Show at midnight ET. On Tuesday, the press conference of the newly crowned National Champion will be featured on B1G Live: National Champions Press Conference at 10 a.m. ET."

Jim Harbaugh and the Wolverines defeated Alabama 27-20 in overtime in the Rose Bowl to earn a trip to the national championship. Michigan enters the game 14-0.

Washington held on for a 37-31 victory over Texas in the Sugar Bowl to reach the title game. Former Indiana offensive coordinator Kalen DeBoer has also led the Huskies to a 14-0 record.

Kickoff between Michigan and Washington is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET. The game will air on ESPN.
