It was only a matter of time before it happened, but now it's official. Iowa's Caitlin Clark is now the Big Ten's all-time scoring leader in women's college basketball. She reached the major milestone in the Hawkeyes' 110-74 road win over Northwestern.

Clark scored a game-high 35 points, making 11-of-22 shots from the floor. She passed former Ohio State star Kelsey Mitchell on the Big Ten's all-time scoring list with a left-handed layup in the second quarter against the Wildcats.

Mitchell finished her career at Ohio State with 3,402 points. Clark now sits at 3,424 after Wednesday's 35-point performance.

With Wednesday's performance, Clark now sits at No. 2 on the all-time NCAA women's college basketball scoring list. Washington's Kelsey Plum currently owns the record with 3,527 points.

Entering Wednesday's game, Clark was averaging 32 points, 7.6 assists and 7.1 rebounds per game. With the win in Evanston, Iowa now sits at 20-2 on the season.

There are still eight games left in the regular season for Clark to surpass Plum on the all-time scoring list. She needs 104 points to break the record.
