INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Indiana and Louisville will make a short trip up north to Lucas Oil Stadium, home of the Indianapolis Colts, for Saturday's Noon ET kickoff.

The Hoosiers are coming off a dominant 41-7 win over Indiana State, and the Cardinals manhandled Murray State in a 56-0 victory.

Louisville coach Jeff Brohm is at a new school, but he's facing a familiar opponent in coach Tom Allen and the Hoosiers. Brohm went 4-1 against Indiana as Purdue's coach, and tallying another win would create serious momentum for the currently undefeated Cardinals.

For the underdog Hoosiers, bowl eligibility chances would get a major boost with a win on Saturday. Allen named redshirt freshman Tayven Jackson the starting quarterback, following an 18-for-21 passing performance last week.

"It was a dream come true," Jackson said. "It's everything you want to hear from a coach. Coming here, it's been a struggle. It's been hard going through a quarterback battle, but that's life. So it was a relief."

Brohm was previously the head coach at Purdue, where he went 36-34 in six seasons with a 2-1 record in bowl games. Purdue won the Big Ten West division in 2022 but lost to Michigan in the Big Ten championship game before Brohm left for Louisville. Before Purdue, Brohm posted a 30-10 record in three seasons at Western Kentucky, including three consecutive bowl wins and two Conference USA titles. As a player, Brohm was a quarterback for Louisville from 1989-93. He threw for 5,451 yards, 38 touchdowns and 28 interceptions. Brohm also played 51 minor league baseball games in Cleveland's organization from 1990-91. He bounced around the NFL and XFL from 1994-2001, appearing in 15 total games. Allen is seventh among Indiana head coaches on the all-time wins list, and he's six wins away from moving into fourth place. Allen was named 2020 American Football Coaches Association National Coach of the Year, when he led the Hoosiers to a 6-2 record and reached as high as No. 7 in the AP top-25 poll, the school's highest ranking since 1967. Along with Bill Mallory, Allen is one of two Indiana head coaches to coach in multiple bowl games.
