BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – New Indiana football coach Curt Cignetti landed his first class of 2025 recruit on Wednesday, when offensive lineman Matt Marek announced his commitment to Indiana.

"100% COMMITTED! After much thought and consideration, along with the guidance of my parents and coaches, I am proud announce my commitment to Indiana University! Go Hoosiers!" Marek posted on X.

Marek is a 6-foot-4, 285-pound offensive lineman from Carl Sandburg High School in Orland Park, Ill.

Marek's commitment comes shortly after visiting Bloomington on Jan. 28. During the visit, Marek announced that he received a scholarship offer from Indiana after conversations with Cignetti and offensive line coach Bob Bostad.

Marek chose Indiana over offers from Akron, Ball State, Bowling Green, Coastal Carolina, Northern Illinois, Toledo and Western Michigan. He's a three-star recruit, per 247 Sports, but is not ranked by any other major recruiting sites. To watch Marek's junior year highlights, CLICK HERE.

Bostad is the only coach returning to Indiana from last season after the school fired former head coach Tom Allen after seven seasons. Allen hired Bostad, who has experience at Wisconsin and in the NFL, before the 2023 season.

The Hoosiers lost starting center Zach Carpenter (Miami), right guard Matthew Bedford (Oregon) and right tackle Kahlil Benson (Colorado) from last season, but they return starting left guard Mike Katic and left tackle Carter Smith.

Indiana also landed transfer offensive linemen Tyler Stephens (James Madison), Nick Kidwell (James Madison) and Trey Wedig (Wisconsin). In the 2024 recruiting class, Indiana brings in Adedamola Ajani, Evan Lawrence, Austin Leibfried and Mitch Verstegen.
