Kansas vs Baylor Basketball Predictions: Who wrote the script?
The Kansas Jayhawks were abysmal from inside the arc against the BYU Cougars on Tuesday, but they get a chance to redeem themselves today against a team that has struggled in the paint. The Baylor Bears don't rely on the three as much as BYU does, but they still are significantly better on the perimeter than the interior.
Both teams are still technically in the race for the Big 12 regular season title, but a win today is a must, along with a lot of help. Instead, a top-4 spot in the Big 12 Tournament, which comes with a double-bye, might come down to who wins this game. Can Kansas pull off the road upset? Or will the road struggles continue, officially eliminating the Jayhawks?

There is no chance that I’m taking this Kansas team on the road. It’s going to take a monster performance from just about everyone on the Kansas roster to beat Baylor in Waco and I just don’t see it happening. I really can’t believe how quickly this season is unwinding, but it truly is and Kansas just has to be ready for the big dance which always favors luck, matchups, and longer timeouts which can help a team with no bench. The Baylor crowd will be hyped and I can’t see this one being close. So, like I said, let’s learn something and apply it for a deep run in the tournament.
Baylor 80, Kansas 63.

This is the BIG 12. No games will ever be a cupcake competition and this is FORSURE a prime example of a tough game. This is arguably the biggest test of the season for Hunter Dickinson and this Kansas squad. Traveling will always be tough but when you play the likes of Baylor with the type of season they have produced I have a difficult time believing that they will produce a win. For the first time since I joined Blue Wings Rising I’ll be picking against the Jayhawks.
Baylor 71, Kansas 58.

Obviously, it would be great if Kevin McCullar is able to go. That would help KU’s chances significantly. That said, I have a hard time seeing the Jayhawks pull this off. I would love to be wrong, but road games are so tough in the Big 12, especially without reliable depth, and this will almost certainly be Baylor’s rowdiest crowd of the year. I’m going in with pessimistic expectations and the hope that I’m pleasantly surprised.
Baylor 78, Kansas 72.

I REALLY want to pick the Jayhawks in this game. After all, the matchups between these two teams seem to defy expectations regularly, especially when both teams are ranked highly. Every time I have expected a blowout for either team, the result has either flipped or been a nail-biter. Every time I expected a close game, it ended up being a laugher.
Coming into today's game, I expected Kansas to be a big underdog. They don't play well on the road. Kevin McCullar was expected to be out. Baylor's offense is fantastic, especially from three. But McCullar is a gametime decision, and the Jayhawks have some sort of attitude around them after the heartbreaking loss to BYU that I can't quite explain. It defies all logic, but give me Kansas to get back on the right track.
Kansas 71, Baylor 69.
