TCU Horned Frogs vs Kansas Jayhawks Predictions: Electric offenses on both sides
The Kansas Jayhawks are still undefeated, and with that record has come national attention, including a visit from College GameDay. At least part of that is due to their opponent this week.
The TCU Horned Frogs absolutely destroyed an Oklahoma team that struggled in all phases of the game. They have one of the best offenses in the country, and a defense that has been more efficient than many expected. But how much of an extra bump did they get from the name on the front of the jersey last week? Can they get a repeat performance against a Kansas team that is hyped up in front of the home crowd?

Back to back weeks, back to back “biggest test of the season” games for Kansas. TCU’s team speed is a legitimate issue and while the Jayhawks have actually been good at limiting explosive plays, that stat will be put to the test this week. I’m expecting a bounce-back week for the KU offense, but that largely hinges on a strong week from the offensive line. I’ll take the Horned Frogs but I think this is effectively a toss-up game.

Well, I’m not backing out now. Kansas is 5-0 and I’ve picked them to win each of those so we’ll keep the ball rolling. Each game at David Booth Kansas Memorial Stadium has gotten bigger and bigger as Kansas keeps winning, and with ESPN’s College GameDay rolling into town, this is the biggest in close to 15 years. At the time of this writing, TCU was 6.5 point favorites, but I’ll take the Jayhawks as they fly into bowl eligibility in the minimum games necessary.
Kansas 31, TCU 28.

The Kansas Jayhawks keep rolling and by doing so College Gameday rolled into town as we take on a very good opponent in the TCU Horned Frogs. The Jayhawks will be without Daniel Hishaw due to injury but this was one of the deepest positions going into the season and I expect this group to pick it up. I look forward to Jalon Daniels taking the field he is such a talented QB. TCU can score the football and I believe the Jayhawks defense will slow them down, but they will get their points. I want to see Cobee Bryant make another key defensive play. Kansas stays on the winning side.
Kansas 38, TCU 31

I feel like a broken record, saying that the Jayhawks will be facing the most difficult test of the season every single week. But that doesn't mean it isn't true. TCU is a much better team than anyone Kansas has faced, including Iowa State.
But it's impossible to ignore that the only team TCU has played that could even be remotely classified as an average (or better) team is Oklahoma, and that is a legitimate question. And when I was reviewing the film of that game (for an article that should be out tonight) I noticed that TCU benefitted from a LOT of bad misses by Oklahoma quarterback Dillon Gabriel.
I have no doubt that Max Duggan will have a big game. And the speed of this TCU offense will be something that Kansas will likely struggle with. But I don't think this defense is talented enough to stop Jalon Daniels, especially if he isn't making unforced mistakes like he did against Iowa State. I think the Jayhawks feed off the energy of the home crowd and become one of the first teams to become bowl eligible this season.
Kansas 41, Iowa State 38
